Miguel Klassen, CAT(C)

My origin story starts as a hyperactive and slightly reckless 12-year-old. I tore my ACL BMXing around the neighborhood. My physiotherapist helped me rehab my knee, but more importantly, showed me how impactful this kind of work could be. Up until high school, I planned to become a physiotherapist. When I learned about the Athletic Therapy program during Grade 12, I shifted my focus toward getting accepted into and graduating from Mount Royal University.

During my schooling and early career, I gained experience working both in clinic settings and with high-performance teams at the youth and collegiate levels. I’ve worked with athletes and active individuals across multiple sports and activity levels, providing injury assessment, rehab assistance, and return-to-play guidance. Those experiences helped shape how I approach treatment today, by focusing on practical recovery strategies that are driven by each individual’s goals and lifestyle.

I’ve also spent time mentoring students and coaching athletes, which strengthened my ability to break down complex movement and injury concepts into simple, useful information. I believe clients should understand their injuries and feel confident managing their bodies, not just rely on treatment sessions.

My Why:

I love being an Athletic Therapist because I’ve seen how frustrating it is when injury and pain stops people from doing what they love. I’ve been there and lived it. It sucks! I strive to help my clients feel like themselves again. I want to help you get back to your lifestyle, feeling confident, pain-free, and ready for whatever you want to tackle next.
